8 is an exhibition bringing together the talents of 8 international artists, now based in Singapore. Between them, these artists have lived and worked in a multitude of countries around the world and developed rich cultural understandings which have helped them to interpret their own place in the world. Their varied experiences define not only the ways in which they create, but the enthusiasm they all have for sharing their artistic endeavours with others.

With a wide range of media and styles, this exhibition showcases the differences that exist between all people. Each artist brings their unique perspective of the world in which they live. By celebrating the differences of these artists, we are celebrating the diversity of humanity. Yet, as with all humans, there are shared understandings to which we can relate. 8 is a celebration of that shared humanity. In the words of Aristotle,

“The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”
